Avoid Work, Read About Sports! 1-25-12

Your workday is almost over! Read this and help it go by faster

Hello world, it has been a while since I blogged.

I was waiting for a good topic before I typed away, but now I am going back to blogging about a lot of different things. I hope you like it.

It's basketball season so let's start there. The mens team is, well, struggling. Though they have looked like a different team under coach Ray Harper. They seem more loose, more energetic. The big question is, does he stay after this year? What's the mark he has to hit to be offered the job? I would think if the team somehow makes a run and wins the conference tournament and gets in the big dance, he'll stay.

Part of me feels like Athletic Director Ross Bjork will ultimately go out and hire his own guy, but who knows. It will be interesting to see how things unfold that's for sure.

One good thing about coach Harper, I feel like if he got the job and turned the program back around, he wouldn't be a coach who would leave after a season or two. This would be his last job.

On to the Lady Tops, what is there to say? They are definitely struggling, home attendance isn't great. What does it mean? Who knows. Last year the team made a run and almost won the Sun Belt Tournament. Wouldn't be shocked if they do it again this year. They can be pretty streaky. One game they look all-right, another game not so much.

High School basketball is also in full swing. I vote every week in the Top 10 poll, here's my current top 5 for both. Feel free to disagree with me.

Boys. 1) Bowling Green 2) Glasgow 3) Clinton 4) Barren County 5) Greenwood

Girls. 1) Monroe County 2) Glasgow 3) BG 4) Greenwood 5) Todd County Central

I really like the way BG has played of late on the boys side and I really like their depth. I still think Glasgow will win the region.

On the girls side, it's all Monroe County and I don't think it's close. Glasgow played them tough, that would be a good regional final if it happens.

Non sports stuff, these are the greatest snacks ever. Warning if you buy them, you'll eat the whole bag in less than two days. I swear. www.snydersofhanover.com/Products/Cid/3/Prid/250/

Hope you all have a good day, thanks for reading.
