Today Jeff and I went to WKU's practice. I know we have both said it on-air, and I am sure if you have been following the team's camp you have heard it, but this team just looks different. There were a few guys I noticed today that I just said,"geez, that guy is huge." The one that sticks out in my mind is Quanterus Smith. He walked by me and his arms are huge! I think they may be bigger than my chest (which isn't saying much.)
Today also marks one week to kick-off for the Hilltoppers. How many of you plan on going to the game down in Nashville. For the team's sake, it would be nice to see a sea of red in the stands. I know a Thursday night at 8:15 is an odd time for a game, but I think having a bunch of red in the stands could go a long way in motivating the team a little more. I will be interested to see the turnout from WKU fans.
Students, you have no excuses not to be there. You're in college, classes aren't even a week old, the game is on ESPNU and it's a Thursday.
To the NFL, I think all this Tim Tebow stuff is funny, and not necessarily haha. I don't get all of the different analysts coming out and making a point to say that Tebow won't be a NFL quarterback or that, essentially, he is terrible. When Merril Hoge talked about him a few weeks ago he was literally getting angry over the idea Tebow could be a starting QB.
Tebow played pretty well when he got the chance last year, and all he did in college was win. The guy is a winner, and I'm not even a big Tebow fan, but I hope he gets a chance somewhere and shuts everyone up. Even funnier to me, the guy is currently a second-third string QB. When is the last time one of those got this much attention?
I was glad to see Joe Montana, maybe one of the best QB's ever, defend him. www.danpatrick.com/2011/08/24/joe-montana-dont-try-to-change-tim-tebows-style/
Titans fans, how do you feel about Chris Johnson? Is it getting to the point where you are getting mad at him, or do you understand where he is coming from?
I get it, but I think the guy needs to just sign a deal and get to camp. What good is it going to do him or his team if he isn't there and I have to think all this is doing is losing him some friends in that locker room.
Week two of high school football starts tomorrow and I am anxious to see how some of the teams who won by a large margin respond. I'm also looking forward to seeing how ACS does in the re-match against Boyle County.
Does anyone else out there watch America's Got Talent? I like it, some really good acts, but man o man does it drag on? That show has been going all summer and they still aren't down to the finalists! If I had to bet, I would put my money on the Illuminate team. That is really cool, and definitely something I would pay to see in Vegas. Not to say the other acts aren't great, but the point is for them to be worthy of headlining Vegas and I think the Illuminate team would do that.
I also really like the guy who sings Sinatra, who worked at a car wash. Great story. Even if he doesn't win, I bet he puts out an album, or should. The guy can sing.
That's all I got, some Skyline Chili is calling my name.
