To all of the fans that witnessed the Hilltoppers win their fifth straight game, this blog is not directed at you.
This is towards the other fans who didn't show up.
I want to know why.
It can't be because the team isn't winning. They've won five in a row and could very well win the Sun Belt Championship this year.
Can't blame weather. It was sunny and just about perfect for football.
So why weren't you there?
Let me say I can understand if finances were the reason you couldn't attend. These are certainly tough times for some people.
But if that's not the reason and you claim to be a fan then honestly, you had no reason not to be at that game. I don't want to hear, "well they just haven't convinced me yet." Or,"they didn't win a game two years ago, they still aren't very good."
If you are a fan upset about the team's performance in the past, it's time to move on and start supporting your team who is winning and by all indications (back-to-back number one recruiting classes) will continue to do so.
I honestly couldn't blame any of the players, or coaches for that matter, if behind closed doors they are mad at the fans and are trying to win in spite of them. If I was on that team I sure would.
As a sports fan I think it's sad the hometown football team who is playing very good football can't sell out a stadium that doesn't seat 25,000.
So honestly, I'm curious, why weren't you there? Has this team not done enough to gain your support?
