If you're a regular to my blog, you know how much Shelia and I love visiting Fall Creek Falls State Park in Spencer, Tennessee. This past weekend we had a chance to return as part of the Marriage Ministry Team at Hillvue Heights Church. After I had spent several days in Louisville last weekend brushing up on my meteorological skills at the annual National Weather Association Conference, I was ready for some rest and relaxation with my good friends and of course my best friend, Shelia.
There is sort of a stigma that goes with marriage retreats that if you're attending one, your marriage must be in trouble. And while we counseled a few couples who needed some advice, the retreat was more about fellowship with each other and learning ways to make good marriages even better. The setting for our retreat at Fall Creek Falls just makes the experience even better.
I am happy, as always to share a few pictures from our weekend experience with you and hope that if you feel the need to talk with someone about your relationship, please call Pastor Scott Whittle at Hillvue Heights...270-842-0012 or visit our Marriage Ministry web page.
Sunrise over the lake at Fall Creek Falls Inn
The main falls at Fall Creek...a little less majestic due to the drought...but still awesome!
Me and Shelia at the falls overlook
Even though the fall colors haven't yet been realized, the view is still breathtaking!
God paints a perfect picture, doesn't He?
This is only half of the group that was part of our marriage retreat weekend. As you can see, we had newlyweds and some that had been married over 40 years!
This has to be one of the best pictures I've ever taken. This was Sunday morning looking at the lake just after sunrise with the fog rising off the water and the heavenly glare shining back to the lens.
Behind the Fall Creek Falls Inn are the lakeshore cabins. Caution...staring at this picture for more than 30 seconds may cause you to pick up the phone and make a reservation with your spouse!
