Answers to Lafayette, TN

Glad to here form one of our Tennessee veiwers.  She ask some questions I get alot.  She writes.

Ok I live in Lafayette, I have an HDTV with an HDTV rabbit ear antenna. I hardly pick up Nashville at all. I currently receive all of these 13.1 (ABCHD), 13.2 (FOX), 13.3 (CW). As well as all of the KET channels. So I am currently receiving your Digital signal correct? And after the transition will I be able to watch tv as I do now? Or will I still need a converter box? Or will I even need an antenna since I have an HDTV?

All good questions.  you are receiving all WBKO digital TV channels.  You will be able to watch tv just as you do now on you HDTV.  If you have any other TVs or VCRs, if you do you will need a converter box.  You will still need an antenna.  If you were to get an outside antenna you may get more digital channels.

Thanks for the questions.  Tim

Better TV for all? No. As many channels? No. Get 13 now? No. Converter boxes work? No. Costly? Yes. What about elderly and people on fixed income? New TV, new antenna, subscribe to satellite? How in the world is this better TV for all? Am thoroughly disgusted. I loved to watch WBKO for local news, weather (storm alerts!)... could get it before even WITHOUT an antenna (indoor or outdoor).... can't get it at all now even with "converter box" and large outdoor antenna. More channels? ha! Used to get about 11 total.... now get 3 ----- maybe ---- if the weather cooperates! Could live with the distortion of picture... but chopped up words - no ...... DTV..... worthless.

Debbie, right now WBKO's digital transmitter is not at full strength. Once the conversion on Dec. 7th takes place, WBKO will be sending out a signal at full power. That should take care of the problems that alot of viewers are having.

I currently get WBKO on my TV in my kitchen using an indoor antenna. My problem is when I hooked up the dtv convertor box and went through all the set-up it tells me there is no signal. I was under the impression that a dtv convertor box was all that was needed for digital. Do you have any sugesstions? Thanks, Debbie

I live in Cub Run, KY. I have the DTV and two analog tvs with the digital convertor box hooked up. I only get a digital signal on one of my tvs wich is the analog with the convertor box. The only channels I get are 23.1, 23.2, 23.3, 23.4 How can I get your station? I have tried hooking up an outdoor antenna but I still have a weak signal. Do I live to far from the transmitter? Will I get any other stations? What type of antenna do I need? I tried the antennaweb site but my antenna I have is the colors I need. Help

Hello, Bettie. You will have to have a antenna other than you Direct TV dish. We here at WBKO would like to provide you our sevice through Direct TV. Direct TV has chosen not to carry our signal. If you want WBKO 13 or KET. You as a Satellite TV customer you need to call and ask for WBKO-13, KET-24 and KET-53. We have tried to get on Satellite. Thank you, Tim
