Happy Friday everyone! The weather should be fantastic throughout south central Kentucky for the fifth week of high school football.

Predictions for this week are as follows:

Warren Central (4-0) at Barren County (2-2) - This week marks the first district games for both the Dragons and Trojans. Warren Central nipped Meade County on the road last week to remain undefeated while Barren County lost by a touchdown at Monroe County. The Dragons are rolling right now and I expect that to continue tonight.

Winner - Warren Central

Logan County (3-1) at Greenwood (1-3) - The Cougars have reeled off three straight wins after their season-opening loss against Butler County. On the other side, the Gators were on the receiving end of a 56-0 romp by Franklin-Simpson. Greenwood, however, has played the tougher schedule. And I think that will show on Friday.

Winner - Greenwood

Owensboro (2-2) at Bowling Green (4-0) - In the past, this game would be a possible preview for a postseason meeting. But the Red Devils dropped to Class 4A this season so the intrigue drops just a little. Plus, Owensboro does not look like the typical Owensboro team we are used to hearing about. The Purples should win by at least three touchdowns.

Warren East (3-1) at Metcalfe County (0-4) - Adarius Barnett is becoming one of the best weapons in the area on offense. He has carried the load for the Warren East offense through the first four weeks and he should do so tonight as well.

Edmonson County (4-0) at South Warren (0-4) - First district game for both teams. The records don't lie. And tonight's final score will reflect that.

Winner - Edmonson County

Monroe County (2-2) at Glasgow (4-0) - Last season this was a game between district foes. But for 2011, the Falcons moved up to Class 3A while the Scotties remain in 2A. I think the Falcons are still finding their way a little bit. The Scotties, though, are moving along just fine, giving up just seven points all season.

Winner - Glasgow

Grayson County (3-1) at Butler County (4-0) - A great start for the Cougars and Bears so far. Grayson County is a missed extra point away from possibly being 4-0 itself. Both teams can score, setting the stage for a shootout. But since I said that, it will probably be a race to 20 points.

Hopkinsville at ACS - Winner: ACS

Todd County Central at Russellville - Winner: Russellville

Hart County at Adair County - Winner: Hart County

Clinton County at Caverna - Winner: Caverna
