Rising sophomore Vinny Zollo will transfer from WKU at the end of the semester.
Zollo told the College Heights Herald Thursday night he was granted a full release from his scholarship by head coach Ray Harper on Tuesday. A source tells WBKO a full release of Zollo from his scholarship will likely come closer to the end of the spring semester, but he is free to explore other options to continue his playing career elsewhere.
Zollo becomes the second men's basketball player to transfer from WKU in the past week. Freshman guard Derrick Gordon opted to leave the program citing a desire to play closer to home.
Zollo is one of just four Hilltoppers to play in all 35 games this season. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and shot 35 percent from behind the arc.
