Texas State is the newest member of the Sun Belt Conference, announcing its decision to join the league on Wednesday. This comes just weeks after Georgia State accepted an invite to join the conference.
The addition of Texas State bumps the Sun Belt's membership to 13 schools. This number should dip to eleven, however, as North Texas and FIU will likely announce very soon they are leaving the Sun Belt for Conference USA.
For now, it appears WKU is staying put in the Sun Belt, much to the chagrin of many Hilltoppers fans. Wednesday, I spoke to WKU interim athletic director Todd Stewart regarding the recent changes in the Sun Belt and how WKU feels about those changes.
