Bowling Green Police say over the past four weeks, more than a dozen catalytic converters have been stolen.
At the end of June, thieves took two brand new converters from Toyota Tundra trucks parked at Gary Force Toyota.
Now, the thieves have moved to stealing the auto parts from businesses' parking lots.
Thieves are stealing the converters because of the precious platinum they contain. They then sell them to recycling businesses.
Platinum sells for more than $1,300 an ounce. The losses total more than $10,000.
