Bowling Green Police are investigating an armed robbery of $8,000 to $9,000 from the Great Escape 12 movie theater Thursday July 8. Police say the robber pulled a .38 caliber revolver on the clerk at about 8:40 in the morning, as the clerk was leaving the theater to get some night deposit slips.
The thief forced the man back into the theater at gunpoint, to get him to open the safe. Once the robber had the money, he made the employee wait in the restroom, threatening to kill him if he came out before a half-hour had passed. A half-hour later, the clerk called police.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, five-foot eight-inches tall with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue, long-sleeve sweatshirt.
