Bowling Green police say just before 10:00 pm on Sunday, September 1st a man tried to pass a fake bill at the Speedway on Scottsville road. Employees told police the man entered the store and tried to purchase a gas card for $20.00. He gave the clerk the bill and the clerk told him it was fake. The man told the clerk he needed to get money out of his car. Which seemed odd to the clerk since the man's wallet contained a lot of cash. Employees told police a similar bill had been passed the day before and verified the serial numbers to be the same. The man is described as a black male in his early twenties 5-feet 8-inches tall with short dark hair, they say he left in a light colored sedan.
