Officers say during the overnight hours of Thursday December 8, someone entered Check'n Go at 330 U.S. 31W Bypass.
Police believe the thieves hid behind trash cans, in front of the business, while forcing the front door open. Once inside, the burglars ransacked the front office, and disabled the alarm system for the building.
The safe was damaged and opened with what appears to be a sawzall type of cutter. The money bag was taken from the safe as well.
What makes this case so unique is prior to entering the building, the burglars cut all of the telephone lines at the back of the building. They also stole the camera system, including the VCR used in the security system.
Police have worked other recent burglaries where the phone lines were cut prior to entering the businesses. With your information, you could earn some Christmas cash!!!
