At approximately 5:39 p.m. Saturday November 20, 2010 a large pickup truck accidentally struck 37-year-old Mark Medaris, and his 3-year-old step-son, Jordan Staten, both of Bowling Green.

Mark and Jordan were crossing Veterans Memorial Lane in the crosswalk at New Bond Way going toward Wal-Mart, when hit by the
truck.

According to witnesses, the truck momentarily stopped after the
accident and then left the scene. Authorities are trying to identify
the driver and the vehicle involved in this unfortunate event.
