Officers say between December 23 and 27, 14 outdoor air conditioning units were stripped of copper and other recyclable materials.

Six of the units were taken from the old Bowling Green Junior High School building on Kentucky Street . Vette City Antiques and Flea Market, on Interstate Drive, reported eight of their outdoor air conditioners were destroyed by the thieves. The brand name on some of the air conditioner units is "York".

Police believe all the air conditioners were damaged or taken to be scrapped for cash. The total value of these two thefts is over $83,000.
