Authorities say a University of Memphis football player was fatally shot overnight on campus.
Officials say the victim was 21-year-old Taylor Bradford.
Police found his body in his car a short distance from campus after the vehicle hit a tree.
Officers then found a bullet wound to Bradford's chest.
The shooting occurred late on Sept. 30 and a university spokesman says residence halls were locked down until police determined the shooting was likely personal.
There have been no arrests.
Classes were canceled Oct. 1 at the University of Memphis.
