Area schoolchildren laced up their walking shoes to take part in "International Walk to School Day."
On Oct. 5, students at Natcher Elementary walked to school to promote healthy living, safer and improved streets, and conserving the environment.
Walk to School Day is an international event with 42 countries participating across the world.
"We get up and have a great time walking to school," parent Gina Davis assured.
Susan Tabor, with the Family Resource Center estimates about 200 kids walked to school on Oct. 5.
The students had a healthy breakfast waiting for them when they got to school.
