The Western Kentucky University Police Department is working on a sexual abuse crime near Western's campus.

The incident is alleged to have happened to a female student on October 2, a little after 11 a.m. in Mimosa Alley.

This is an alley adjacent to university property.

Captain Mike Dowell, with Western's police department, says the offenses being investigated include unlawful imprisonment, sexual abuse and wanton endangerment.

Captain Dowell says wanton endangerment means there was conduct by another person that created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to this person.

The investigation is ongoing, in conjunction with the Warren County Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
