PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) -- McCracken County school public school officials can move ahead on a plan to consolidate the three high schools into one new one.
The Kentucky Board of Education approved the plan Thursday during a meeting in Frankfort.
The Paducah Sun reported state board member Billy Harper did not vote, recusing himself because he was on the local school board until his appointment during the summer to the state agency.
McCracken Board Chairman Neil Archer said officials can now begin working with architects and finish plans for property.
Construction of the new high school is estimated at $40 million.
Grades 10-12 from Reidland, Heath and Lone Oak high schools would be moved into it.
