A task force made up of Western's staff, students, alumni, parents, and the Bowling Green Fire and Police Departments releases 18 recommendations to the public.
The suggestions range from an upgrade on the emergency phone system, to recommendations for campus police.
For Housing and Residence Life, the task force recommends freshmen live in single gender residence halls, and if any student falls below full-time status their Hall Director will be notified and the student may be removed from the residence hall.
President Gary Ransdell says officials have not met to decide when certain changes will be implemented, but did say that they will work quickly.
Newscenter 13 spoke to Katie Autry's former roommate, Danica Jackson, who says security was not adequate when she lived in Poland Hall. Other students say they believe security is adequate.
