Bowling Green City School officials say the Bowling Green Independent School District is the most diverse school district in the state of Kentucky.
In fact, the district has seen a 300 percent increase of foreign-born students in the past several years. That increase is greater than the national average.
That means the district has at least one English as a Second Language E.S.L. teacher in every school, and two ESL teachers in most schools. Overall, officials say both the United-States-born students and the foreign-born students both benefit from the diversity.
