The Russellville School Board has picked a new superintendent.
Former Washington County High School principal Leon Smith got the job.
Smith has held multiple positions in his 26 years in the Washington County School system.
This will be his first role as superintendent. Smith plans to take the helm at Russellville September 8.
Greenwood High School Principal Mark Davis, and Doctor Anthony Sanders, the principal at Christian County Career and Technical Center, were the other two finalists for the post.
