Recently, Glasgow High School experienced falling test scores and rising dropout rates, so interim schools Superintendent Charles Campbell fired principal Kelly Bell.

Bell says she does not believe her termination is justified, but she is carrying on.

"You teach kids by your example more so than what comes out of your mouth," she told us, "and I have to show them life's not fair. Sometimes unfair things happen. But you know you gotta roll on and make the best of it."

The students meanwhile are determined.

"The protest, it will go along of course as long as it takes," said Kylie Foushee, "but the new superintendent will be hired at the beginning of July, and we hope by then we have convinced him to hire her back."

"If you ask her to do something for you," Delaney Sublett said, "she will. As she put it earlier, she knows everybody's name. Even at the other schools people know her, and that speaks a lot for me."

And Bell appreciates her students' support. "They're fabulous students. I mean look at me, I'm 5-4, and we have a school of 563 students with literally no discipline issues. It's a tremendous school. We're a family. We're a family, and the students know that."

Bell's firing does not take effect until her contract expires in June. We were unable to get in contact with Charles Campbell.
