State officials say 43,902 degrees and credentials were issued during the 2006-2007 school year.
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System accounted for more than half of what was awarded.
State schools awarded more than 14,700 degrees.
The University of Louisville had the largest growth among the state schools.
Meanwhile, the University of Kentucky conferred more than 3600 bachelor's degrees, the most in state history.
