Got a favorite Kentucky teacher?

Nominations for the 2013 Kentucky Teacher Awards have opened.

Winners will receive cash prizes with a grand prize of $10,000 going to the teacher chosen as Kentucky Teacher of the Year.

The website for nominations is http://kentuckytoy.com, and the deadline is May 15.

Eligible teachers must be full-time with at least three years of experience. Anyone can nominate a teacher.

Awards will be announced in September.

The awards are sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Education and Ashland Inc., a Covington-based specialty chemical company.
