The event is put on by WBKO, Bowling Green Parks and Rec, Hughes and Coleman and Southeast Financial Credit Union. The event is free and they will be plenty of fun for everyone.

Beginning Monday Oct. 15 through Oct. 28, Bowling Green residents may phone in requests to the leaf hotline at 393-3333 to pick up their leaves. Pickup will occur once per week during this time.

The Oct. 13 events included a 5K Run and Walk, a one and a half mile Fun Walk, the 10K Wheelchair Race and the 10-K Classic. One of the big highlights of the race, besides finishing, was the $10,000 cash prize drawing that participants were entered in.

Kentucky's Special Olympic athletes returned home on Oct. 13, but not without a big greeting first. The fifteen athletes and eight coaches returned to Louisville from the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China.
