Anyone shopping for Halloween costumes near Western's campus had a lot to choose from Oct. 11.

WKU's Department of Theatre and Dance held a costume sale at Downing University Center.

It was a chance to make room for new costumes and raise some money for the department at the same time.

Being across from Western's bookstore gave the sale a higher profile location.

"We did it two years ago but we had it in the theatre department and it wasn't a good turnout, so this year we had it in DUC. We may have it every other year," assured Shura Pollatsek, with the WKU Theatre Dept.

Organizers say lots of costumes were scooped up by the Capitol Arts Youth Theatre.

Others went to people shopping early for Halloween costumes.
