October is National Fire Prevention Month and to commemorate this, the Bowling Green Fire Dept. held their annual Firehouse Festival.
There were a number of equipment demonstrations and children's activities for people to get involved with.
The event is fun for both community members and firefighters.
"This is a chance for our firefighters to meet the community. We tend to meet people on an emergency bases only and this is a chance to meet people when they're actually having fun and there's not emergency involved," explained Marlee Boenig, with the Bowling Green Fire Dept.
This year's theme was "Practice Your Escape Plan" in an effort to encourage citizens to plan, implement and practice their fire escape plan with their entire household.
