Early Oct. 20, the American Diabetes Association walked downtown in Bowling Green all in the name of diabetes research.
Fountain Square Park was the site for this year's "Walking in the District for Diabetes."
This marked the fifth year for the event that raises money for the ADA.
Supporters walked nearly two-miles in an effort to bring awareness and a message of hope for the disease.
"The money goes to research and we're trying to find a cure for diabetes and to help people with high blood sugar and getting news to help people prevent getting diabetes," explained Kevin Kirby, with the Walking District for Diabetes.
So far the group has raised more than $20,000 for diabetes research.
