Kids and adults got a chance to explore Skeleton's Lair on Oct. 27 and get an early start on trick-or-treating. This year marks the first ever for "Pumpkinfest."

The day's events included face painting, pumpkin decorating and of course, candy.

The event in Allen County showcases a background tour of the haunted woods at Skeleton's Lair specifically for kids.

"It's a daytime family fun event where the families get to come out with their children, and paint pumpkins and take them home. There's face painting and a walk through the haunted woods to see the animatronics and to learn a little bit more about Halloween," explained Sherryl Lockett, with Pumpkinfest 2007.

If you're brave enough, Skeleton's Lair is open through October 31.

You can also stay connected to WBKO.com and WBKO-ABC on Monday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m, as we explore the haunted woods on "Adventures in Kentucky".
