Thousands of Kentucky children are in need of a permanent home.

That's the message being sent as part of Adoption Awareness Month.

Bowling Green Mayor Elaine Walker held a proclamation on Nov. 1 at Bowling Green City Hall.

The statistics speak for themselves.

More than 7,000 children are in need of foster or adoptive homes and only 2300 homes are available.

"There are good homes in Bowling Green and people need to step forward, and let these kids become part of their family," explained Tiffany Sago, adoption resource coordinator.

Anyone who'd like to find out more about being an adoptive or foster parent can call 842-9032 or 746-7447.
