Area Special Olympic groups hit the pins on Nov. 3 for a bowling tournament in Bowling Green.
Bowlers and their families set foot on the lined hardwood floors during the annual event at Southern Lanes.
By competing, the groups qualified for the state tournament in Lexington.
Competition manager Brent Belcher says he gets a lot of fulfillment from the event.
"The athletes and their families, and the amount of enjoyment they get out of today. The opportunity for them to showcase their talents and to have a day specifically for their enjoyment," explained Belcher.
Participants get the opportunity later this month to attend the state tournament, a weekend long event in Lexington starting on Nov. 30.
