Woodburn residents are enjoying a new addition to their community.
The city hosted an open house on Sunday, Dec. 16, for its new Community Center.
State legislators Jim DeCesare and Brett Guthrie helped obtain an $80,000 grant to fund the project, which significantly helped Woodburn residents.
"You can't build this facility for $80,000, but it didn't cost our taxpayers that much more money, so that they could have this nice building--which we as a city could not have afforded without the grant. So we're really enthused with it," assured Woodburn Mayor Joe Wheet Sr.
Mayor Wheet adds that those living inside the city limits can use the Community Center free of charge.
Anyone outside of the community is also welcome to the building, but has to pay a fee.
