The Bowling Green Skate Park at Roland Bland Park will celebrate its Grand Opening April 14, 2007. The ribbon cutting will take place at 10 a.m. followed by open skating for the rest of the day. Designer Wally Hollyday will be in attendance.

Music will be provided by Revolution 91.7 and commentary on tricks being performed on the skating surface will be provided by local skater Chad Anthony. Several skateboard, inline and bmx teams from the region have plans to attend and demonstrate their skills.

Bowling Green Parks and Recreation will provide free food cooked by All Seasons. Giveaways will take place throughout the celebration and include tshirts, an ipod shuffle, complete decks, aggressive inline skates, gift certificates and many other items. Giveaways are provided by Blue Wallace, Greenwood Skate Center, Great Escape, Howard's Cycling and Fitness, Outer Loop, Print Mafia, The Place and more.
