The men and women who protect and serve in the Bowling Green Police Department were honored Friday with an awards ceremony.
Some were recognized for working more than five years, while others received promotions.
Alex Wright was voted Officer of the Year, and even though he could have bragged about it, he remained humble.
"Just knowing that when I come to work," said Officer Wright. "I enjoy it and I don't dread coming to work. It's a big thing for me. I've been here for almost five years, four-and-a-half-years. I do still enjoy it and that's a big thing for me."
Officer Wright was also presented with the Child Restraint Award.
