U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie announced Friday, a provision has been added to both the House and the Senate versions of the Defense Authorization bill.
The measure would help Kentucky secure land near Fort Knox to build the nursing home facility.
McConnell says the Senate Armed Services Committee approved the bill late Thursday.
A House committee passed its version of the bill on May 20.
The bill still has to be considered by the full Senate and House.
