Kentucky's Ag Commissioner Calls for Disaster Declaration

Commissioner Richie Farmer says cattle are dying from a weather-related condition called Primary Ruminal Tympany also known as frothy bloat.

The cattle are consuming greater quantities of clover, which causes their stomach's first chamber to become enlarged and ultimately limits breathing.

One beef specialist says some producers have lost as much as 25 to 30 percent of their herds.
