After a warm-up exercise, participants took over Keriakes Park for the "Walk Around Kentucky" on Sept. 22.
The 5-K walk is named in memory of Heather Macy, a Louisville-native who passed away from a seizure in 2003.
"I'm in support of helping anybody I can help and the more people we can get out here the better and the more money raised and get the awareness out," walk participant, Jennifer Jones said.
Jones walks in support of her cousin who has epilepsy. It's her second year participating.
Proceeds from the walk go to the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana.
