On Sept. 22, many people got their heart pumping and walked to raise money for the cause.
The American Heart Association hosted the Heart Walk on The Medical Center's front lawn.
It's an annual event that promotes walking as a “heart healthy” activity.
In Warren County, heart disease accounts for 48-percent of all deaths, and stroke is the number three killer among Americans.
"If you know anyone which most people do that has had heart disease in their life we are celebrating them as a survivor. This is a preventative disease and if we use preventative measure that we can stop," Heart Walk manager Holly Byrd said.
The event included a variety of “heart-healthy” activities including blood pressure screenings and massages.
