City Engineer Jeff Lashlee was named the Distinguished Engineer in the Public Sector last Friday, by the State Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Founded in 1852, ASCE represents more than 144,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society.
Full members of ASCE must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited civil engineering program, and be a licensed professional engineer, or have five years responsible charge of engineering experience.
This award is given to only one engineer each year in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
