In more than 40 years at WBKO, Gene dedicated herself to our community through countless hours supporting efforts like The Jefferson Awards, Kids on the Block, and the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.
"Mama Gene," as she was affectionately known, mentored literally hundreds of young broadcast professionals passing through our doors.
Visitation for Gene will be at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel from noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 22, with a memorial service immediately following.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
