LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari and the Calipari Family Foundation for Children, announce an initiative to promote financial literacy in elementary schools throughout the commonwealth of Kentucky.
The program will provide elementary schools across Kentucky with an online learning program, designed to teach children from an early age about saving money, job planning, and budgeting.
The Calipari Family Foundation for Children and local banks will provide the money to distribute the program to schools across Kentucky.
Calipari says he started working toward a similar program while he was the head coach at the University of Memphis, and brought the idea with him when he became the Wildcats' coach in April 2009.
