Cave City no longer has a mayor!
Wednesday Barren Circuit Judge Phil Patton set aside the results of last November's election which incumbent Bob Hunt won by just two votes.
But one of Hunt's opponents, former Cave City Councilman Dwayne Hatcher, sued both Bunt and mayoral candidate Larry Davidson, claiming some of the people who voted in the election did not live within the city limits.
Judge Patton agreed, and his ruling declares the election "null and void."
So now the Cave City Council must appoint a new mayor, until one can be elected in the upcoming November general election.
It's not yet known if Hunt will appeal Judge Patton's ruling.
