Just before 10 o'clock last Friday night, a Warren County Sheriff's Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a green 1999 Ford Mustang driven by Chad Baugh.
Baugh was wanted by the Bowling Green Police Department in connection with attempting to run over an officer and fleeing the scene several days prior.
Baugh failed to stop for the Deputy and fled at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit was initially called off due to high traffic volume in the Bowling Green city limits; however Baugh was located southbound on the Natcher Parkway and the pursuit was reinitiated.
Deputies, with the assistance of Kentucky State Police and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, pursued Baugh southbound on I-65 at high rates of speed.
Baugh exited the interstate and the pursuit continued though Franklin,
Simpson County, Logan County, Auburn, and into the Russellville City limits.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office deployed spike strips which deflated Baugh's tires; and a Logan County Deputy made contact with Baugh's vehicle disabling it.
Baugh refused to comply with deputies once the vehicle was stopped, at which time force was used to gain compliance.
Baugh was transported and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on two counts of Fleeing 1st degree, five counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, two counts of Reckless Driving, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 1st Degree - Aggravated Circumstances.
Baugh's passenger in the vehicle, Crystal McKenzie–Buto, was charged with Hindering Apprehension Second Degree.
