The Glasgow Police Department is investigating a theft of copper wire from the South Central Rural Telephone Company on Happy Valley Road in Glasgow.
Detectives say during the overnight hours of May 26, at least two men used a white van to steal the copper wire. They say a large section of fence around the cable yard was cut out in two different places, allowing entrance into the yard.
A gate was opened, allowing a van to enter and at least two men then loaded several thousand feet of copper wire into the van. The van is described as a white utility van with no side windows and a dark stripe on each side and a ladder rack on top.
A yellow rain suit with "SCRTC" printed on the coat was stolen as well.
