Independence Bank was named as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2012 making the list for the sixth year in a row.
The awards program was created in 2005 and is a project of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and Best Companies Group. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky program recognizes outstanding companies who set a new standard of workplace excellence for employee engagement and business success that many in the Commonwealth will use as a benchmark.
Independence Bank currently employs 257 employees throughout Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, Hopkins, McLean, McCracken, Warren, and Webster Counties. Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Kentucky. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Kentucky and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings. Vice President, Human Resource Officer, Tawna Wright said, “We hire the best employees in all of our 8 markets. It is very important to us because the quality of talent we are able to acquire continues to raise the bar for what type of employer we need to be. Being named one of the best in the state publicly acknowledges the great environment we have!”
Warren County President, Brad Howard, said, “Best Places to Work recognizes some of the top performing companies in our state. It is another third party stating we have an organization that has the BEST people who make a difference for ourselves, our customers and our communities”.
The Bank will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 8th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville where the final rankings will be announced at the event.
