Harold B. McGuffey of Bowling Green has passed away. His family says he died Monday.
McGuffey played basketball at WKU under Coach E. A. Diddle.
He owned and operated McGuffey Insurance Agency from 1952 to 1971. In 1963 he was named Kentucky's Insurer of the Year, and in 1971 he was appointed Commissioner of Insurance for the state of Kentucky, a position he held for seven years.
McGuffey was a World War II bomber pilot in the Army Air Force.
A memorial service will be held at noon next Wednesday, July 27, at State Street United Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at the church at eleven.
Harold B. McGuffey was 91 years old.
