FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Greg Harkenrider, deputy director of the Governor's Office of Economic Analysis, told a panel of university economists Thursday, Kentucky's employment and personal income are growing slower than the nation as a whole. He said that could be a cause for concern for the state's rebounding economy.
The Kentucky economists, serving on what's called the Consensus Forecasting Group, were meeting in Frankfort on Thursday to make an official prediction on state government revenues for the coming year. They were expected to make the newest forecast Thursday afternoon.
Kentucky's unemployment rate has been hovering at close to 10 percent during the summer months, while the national rate is slightly above 9 percent.
