Wife of Fallen Soldier Speaks Out About Arrest of Suspected Terrorists

One local woman is speaking out about the suspected terrorists arrested here in Bowling Green.

Lisa Henderson's husband, Rob, gave his life for his country several years ago in Iraq, the same country the alleged terrorists were helping.

"Rob served the National Guard for 16 years," said Lisa. "He went to Iraq in January of 2004 and was killed in April of 2004."

Rob Henderson passed away in the line of duty seven years ago.

Tuesday Lisa watched their seven-year-old son play baseball.

"He was looking forward to having a son with me and having his life here at home," said Lisa. "He did what he did that day to protect the soldiers that were under him and to keep everyone safe."

Lisa also just found out about the arrests of the alleged terrorists.

"I was shocked," said Lisa. "It's really hard to believe that someone like that was living in our community amongst us. It's kind of scary to think that that was going on right here."

Many people agree it is scary, since you could come in contact with them at anytime.

"Makes me angry to think that these are people that I could have had interaction with in my everyday life, or my son," said Lisa. "I just wonder, how did they get to the United States? How did they manage to be living here for so long and something like that go on?"

Lisa says it is a lot closer to home than most people may think.

"You know, a lot of people, I think, want to pretend and tell themselves that something like that doesn't happen where they live or in their community, but the truth is it really does," said Lisa.

Lisa adds she is glad the alleged terrorists have been caught and will be brought to justice.
