Winds measured at 75 miles per hour flipped private planes over at the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport Thursday afternoon.
Officials say the planes that flipped were actually anchored to the ground!
"So we have multiple airplanes that have actually broken their tie down ropes, due to the high winds, flipped upside down which is major damage on three different aircraft," said Rob Barnett, Airport Manager.
Barnett also said this is the worst damage they've had at the airport in years.
The winds were part of a severe thunderstorm that rumbled through Bowling Green around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Numerous trees blew down, blocking several streets and crashing into homes.
