Joyce Cardwell, 80, of Bowling Green, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2012.
She was a lifelong member and song leader of Cherry’s Chapel United Methodist Church and retired from the Warren County Schools. She was born on July 17, 1932, to the late Ned and Ruby Cherry Stringfield. She was also preceded in death by children, Marquetta and Terry Cardwell; and brothers, Keith and David Stringfield. She is survived by her husband, Aubrey “Bee” Cardwell; sons, Larry “Butch” Cardwell and Aubrey Kevin Cardwell (Carla), both of Bowling Green; daughters, Rita Isenberg (Bobby) of Oakland and Jahala Brown of Bowling Green; a nephew, Gary Cardwell, and niece, Sandra Pierce, whom she raised, both of Bowling Green; brothers, Rex and Barry Stringfield (Caroline), both of Bowling Green; sisters, Fredene Smith and Gracie Miller, both of Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, with funeral at 1 p.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Burial will be in Cherry’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
